Great to see old friends

especially when it's been fifty years.

"On the first day of the campaign about 2,400 people refused anti-polio vaccine. There are many reasons for this refusal but mainly the religious sermons of certain clerics on FM radio channels are responsible for the increasing number of refusals," a Pakistani district health department official said, on condition of anonymity.

I know, I know, it's like what they say in AA meetings. Once you fall in again with your old companions, all your good resolutions just vanish and you're back in it again...

"A 22-year-old Pakistani student in Australia has tested positive for polio, a World Health Organisation official says. The case is the first in Australia since 1986, officials say."

Local cleric Rohul Amin, had asked the people to block the entry of the vaccinators to the village. He said oral polio vaccines were against Islam.

Islamabad, Feb 17 - A Pakistani doctor was killed while returning from a tribal council meet where he had sought to convince people to immunise their children against polio.

Looks like we're going to be seeing more of this old pal...
